About this print

Polite smiles. Absolutely no trust. Mahito and Grimmer exchange a greeting that feels like neither is saying what he really thinks. Their handshake holds the scene together, while the portraits on either side let the courtesy slip: Mahito’s twisted delight meets Grimmer’s cold, unamused stare.

I wanted the tension to sit beneath the manners. An encounter where the longer you look, the less friendly it feels.
