Two swordsmen stand back to back, each carrying the memory of someone who shaped him.
I painted Rengoku’s mother beside him in soft violet, a quiet reminder of why he chooses to protect others. On Rayleigh’s side, Gol D. Roger’s grin comes through a faded red wash, as vivid in memory as it ever was in life. I kept both portraits translucent so they’d feel like memories. Rengoku and Rayleigh stand together in the present, but the people they’ve lost still have a place beside them.
